Serena was admitted as an attorney and enrolled to practice through the Law Society of the Northern Provinces in 2008. She is a director at Serena Chetty Incorporated Attorneys, which firm she founded in 2017.

She specialises in labour relations and employment disputes where she has assisted the likes of the National Union of Metalworkers SA and the National Union for Mineworkers with disputes concerning large-scale retrenchment, mass strike actions, pension fund and workplace discrimination. She also maintains vast experience in family, contractual and commercial disputes.

Serena is a forensic and workplace investigator, with experience in company malpractice and harassment investigations.

Serena is adept in initiating and chairing disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings across various industries within the corporate realm as well as attending to disputes referred to the CCMA and Bargaining Councils.
Serena has vast experience in training human and industrial relations officers on CCMA rules and procedures and maintains a keen interest in facilitation and mediation.
