Sean is a specialist in alternative dispute resolution and employment law. His vast knowledge and experience include the arbitration, mediation and facilitation of every form of a labour dispute arising from the Labour Relations Act of 1995 and Employment Equity Act of 1998.

He has particular expertise in chairing hearings arising from forensic investigations. He has recently presented a webinar on the contentious topic of racism as misconduct.

Sean’s even-handed and professional approach has been widely acknowledged by those representing parties in arbitrations and hearings.

He has experience using a wide range of technologies such as Zoom and Skype in the conduct of dispute resolution processes.

Sean is a Director of the Labour Law Academy (Pty) Ltd, a training provider whose core business is developing training programmes covering all aspects of employment law.

Sean researches and writes articles and, in doing so, makes complicated law accessible to practitioners –that is, human resource and labour relations managers, attorneys and officials of trades unions- enabling them to apply their knowledge effectively in the workplace.  All of these articles are available on the Labour Law Academy website, along with training courses and books covering topics such as the law of dismissal, sexual harassment, labour dispute resolution, and the law of evidence as it pertains to labour disputes.
