Larry is a legal practitioner who practiced as a commercial and litigation lawyer in the 1980s and 1990s. He thereafter migrated into labour issues after working with several Industrial Councils, mainly in the Clothing and Textile industry. 

During the 1980s, Larry sat as an Additional Member of the Industrial Court. and presided over numerous matters concerning disputes of Interest and disputes of rights. Certain of his judgments have been reported.

Larry joined the CCMA from inception as a full-time Commissioner. He presided over mediations, conciliations, facilitations, and arbitrations.

Larry moved to a part-time senior commissioner and was appointed to various Bargaining Councils (clothing industry, chemical industry, metal and engineering and motor industry), but of late has focused on the CCMA, and chairing hearings and enquiries for various companies.

Larry has also provided training to employers and employees on various aspects of labour law, employment equity, discrimination and sexual harassment.
