Johann van Zuydam is a mediation and arbitration panellist.

He is a retired advocate of the High Court and specialised in motor law and affiliated fields at the Pietermaritzburg Bar since 1976. Prior to commencing legal practice, he was a trial magistrate attached to the then Department of Justice.

Johann was the co-founder of Professional Alternative Dispute resolution (PADR), a company specialising in the short-term insurance industry, and involved in setting up the South African Insurance Industry Arbitration Initiative and the drafting of the applicable rules governing the process. Johann also involved himself in the transport industry, serving on the boards of various transport companies and currently in a non-executive Capacity. 

He was a pioneer in the pomegranate industry in South Africa and the establishment of export markets in this field.
