Jay is an admitted attorney and has been practicing for approximately 30 years. He has acted as a judge in the Natal Provincial Division. Jay has considerable experience in all dispute resolution processes in the commercial and employment fields.

Jay was a panellist of the Independent Mediation Service of South Africa (IMSSA) as well as a part-time commissioner at the CCMA from 1996-2000. He has extensive experience in the area of motor law, including the Road Accident Fund.

As a legal practitioner, he has been involved in a considerable amount of litigation and settlements of claims by individual litigants against third parties and their insurers, and general litigation in negligence matters.
