CraigProfile

Craig has been an advocate at the Cape Bar since 2014, specialising in employment matters. He is also a lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch Faculty of Law since 2014, providing training on substantive law and arbitration to aspirant CCMA commissioners. He was previously a senior lecturer in labour law at the University of Cape Town (LLM and LLB courses in labour law and alternative dispute resolution) until 2009. He has been a research associate for the Faculty of Law at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University since 2011.

Craig was an expert facilitator for ILO courses in 2016 and 2018, co-authored the ILO Report on the amendments to the Malaysian labour legislation in 2019, and was an external collaborator with the ILO for a training course on evolving forms of employment relationships and decent work in the Philippines in 2015.

Craig was previously a CCMA part-time commissioner and was on the CCMA’s panel of trainers and material developers and several bargaining council panels. He resigned from the CCMA in August 2014.

Craig has published widely on labour law and dispute resolution and is a familiar guest presenter at national conferences in South Africa.
