Cecilia is a BA LLB LLM graduate of the University of Stellenbosch, and an advocate of the High Court of South Africa. She is Jeremy Chennells’ co-founding partner of Chennells, Brümmer & Associates and its BEE initiative, CB Capacity Building Consultancy since 1994 and 2003 respectively. She has been involved in the field of labour law and industrial relations for the past 24 years, as a legal advisor, arbitrator, mediator, strategist, consultant, lecturer and trainer/facilitator.

Cecilia also served as a part-time Senior Commissioner at the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA) and the Local Government Bargaining Council, several other Bargaining Councils as well as being a Tokiso arbitration and training panellist. Her clients include several blue chip and international organisations, spanning Maritime, Offshore & Oil, Mining, Manufacturing (metal, motor, chemical, plastics), Pharmaceutical, Wholesale & Retail, Education, Sport & Recreation, Agricultural, Services industries (IT & Security) and Financial sectors, as well as Municipalities & Local Government, Trade Unions and NGO’s.
