Arne Sjolund is a part-time CCMA Commissioner and an Associate of the Association of South African Arbitrators.
Arne is a qualified trainer in Labour Law, Employment Equity and Diversity Management and serves on various training institutions. He has, through the Transnet Bargaining Council, chaired council meetings and negotiations for Transnet and Metrorail. Arne is CCMA accredited and serves on several other Bargaining Councils (TBC, MEIBC, ELRC, SALGBC, FURN, BCCEI, RFBC).
Arne has successfully completed the CCMA specialized LRA training on Organisational Rights, section 198 A – D disputes and EEA unfair discrimination and sexual harassment disputes. He has also completed specialized training on sexual misconduct cases in terms of S188A of the LRA, as well as the testimony of child witnesses.
Arne has worked and studied internationally. From 2012 to 2015 he served on the Board of Governors at the British School of Brussels and also completed a mediation course at the Association of International Arbitrators in Brussels. He currently serves as a National Advisor for the South African Association of Labour Dispute Resolution Practitioners. Arne completed a one-day remote mediation extension training course.
With more than 25 years’ experience in the field of dispute resolution, Arne is a firm believer in ADR and has come to understand the complexities of resolving disputes in an ever-changing multicultural and diverse society.
