Angela

Angela du Plessis was trained as a mediator (and arbitrator) in the labour context by the CCMA in 1996. She undertook over 4 000 disputes at the CCMA, ranging from disputes of rights to national disputes of interest. As a result of the number of arbitrations undertaken at the CCMA, Angela chairs disciplinary enquiries and grievance hearings and has done so for the past two decades.

Angela has specialized in dealing with sensitive issues at the workplace such as sexual harassment and racial conflict. She is comfortable with dealing with disputes which have high levels of conflict. In this way, she combines her clinical and diagnostic skills with a deep understanding of organizational and sociopolitical dynamics. Much of her experience to date has covered both troubled individuals and troubled teams in their organisational contexts. Angela has facilitated many difficult conversations in the workplace and family contexts.

She has also frequently acted as a conflict coach in a wide variety of settings.
