Andiswa is a seasoned labour law attorney with over 20 years of experience navigating the intricacies of South Africa’s employment landscape. As an independent legal practitioner, she has built a reputation for delivering strategic, balanced solutions that uphold the rights of both employers and employees, while promoting constructive and compliant workplace relations. 

Armed with a master’s degree in labour law, Andiswa blends academic rigour with deep practical insight, having worked extensively across the spectrum of employment disputes. Her areas of expertise include dispute resolution, workplace mediation, legal research, training, lecturing, and facilitation. 

Andiswa has served as a CCMA Commissioner for 16 years, engaging with collective bargaining both from a training materials development perspective during her time in the materials department and as a practising Commissioner presiding over cases. She is well versed in the Code of Good Practice (Dismissals) as amended, organisational rights, mutual interest disputes, and retrenchments, having lectured postgraduate students at the University of the Western Cape on these topics. This academic grounding, combined with first-hand experience, allows her to make complex subject matter accessible and relatable to her audiences. 

She has trained both internal and external CCMA audiences on these areas on numerous occasions as a SETA-accredited Facilitator, and, as a SETA-accredited Assessor, currently assesses CCMA scripts for commissioners seeking to develop specialist knowledge in this field. As a part-time Commissioner, she has successfully resolved disputes presiding over matters in Bargaining Councils and for private clients, including wage disputes and proposed retrenchments.
