Anashrin practices as an Advocate at the KwaZulu Natal Bar. He previously practised as an Attorney for 18 years. He has a special interest in ADR processes involving labour law, civil commercial law and international commercial law.
Anashrin is Senior Commissioner with the CCMA, a Senior Panellist with the ELRC and a Panellist with the TBC and BECI. He was previously a Panellist with the GPSSBC for ten years, the PHWSBC for six years and SALGBC for two years.
Anashrin also served as a member of the KZN Law Society’s Labour Law Committee and acted as a Regional Court Magistrate.
His practice over the years has included short term insurance, Road Accident fund and motor law matters. With regard to commercial work, he is an accredited ADR Group (London), Civil and Commercial Mediator, a Panellist with the Tribunal for Commercial Property and a Panellist with Africa Dispute Resolution. He has also presided over Municipal Rates Evaluation Appeals.
On a general note he presently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Association of Democratic Lawyers (NADEL) and was previously the Chairperson of its Pietermaritzburg Branch. He was also appointed as a District Electoral Officer and Counting Co-ordinator for the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) for our country’s First Democratic Elections in 1994
